Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated a suite of natural gas projects on Tuesday to broaden clean energy access across the region. The state government launched piped natural gas supply and industrial connectivity for Mangaldai and Tezpur, alongside new compressed natural gas facilities in Uhani and Goraimari.

These initiatives aim to provide reliable, eco-friendly energy options for local households, businesses, and industries. During the launch at the state secretariat, Sarma stated that the expansion of natural gas infrastructure represents a step toward modernizing Assam's energy ecosystem, ensuring that communities benefit from affordable and eco-conscious solutions.

By reducing reliance on traditional fuel sources, the government intends to support sustainable economic growth and encourage greener practices across multiple sectors. These projects reflect a broader push to integrate sustainable energy into the state's long-term development strategy.
