Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Backs Cyclist Asha Malviya on Empowerment Tour

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with cyclist and mountaineer Asha Malviya on June 7 to show his support for her nationwide mission. Malviya is currently traveling 60,000 kilometers across India on a journey known as the Bharat Yatra to raise awareness for women's safety and empowerment.

Sarma provided Rs 1 lakh in financial assistance to help sustain her expedition. Taking to the social media platform X, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of her mission. He praised her resolve, stating that he was "recognising her dedication and inspiring mission" as she works to reach communities in every part of the country.

The Bharat Yatra focuses on promoting gender equality and encouraging women to take active roles in all sectors of society. Malviya's campaign has gained significant attention from public figures and various organizations for its focus on social awareness. The Chief Minister expressed his admiration for her determination and offered his best wishes for the remainder of her ambitious journey.
