Guwahati: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma toured key sites across Assam on July 5 to track progress on state-backed development projects. He started at the North East Skill Centre in Gorchuk. The CM watched trainees study the Japanese language under the CM Flight Scheme.

Sarma said preparing Assam's youth for global employment opportunities while building an "Atmanirbhar and prosperous Assam" through skill development, employment and entrepreneurship remains one of the government's top priorities. The state spends roughly Rs 1.5 lakh per person to help locals land jobs in Japan.

The CM then moved to the Betkuchi building site. This Integrated Directorate Complex will house 54 government offices. It must improve how the state serves citizens. He ordered staff to include a canteen and a health clinic. The building needs parking and better water access too. Workers will move departments in three distinct phases.

Sarma finished his rounds at the Sarusajai Stadium. Officials presented a master plan for the area. The government wants a new urban hub. They hope to boost connectivity and build better public infrastructure. Senior ministers and department heads joined him throughout the day.
