Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Women's Welfare Society is pushing for a fast, impartial probe into the killing of a 25-year-old woman in Aalo. West Siang police have 45-year-old Todak Ngomdir in custody. He surrendered to authorities on Tuesday, one day after allegedly killing his former wife. The couple split up about a month ago.
The APWWS district unit condemned the violence. They promised to watch the investigation closely to ensure the case reaches a firm conclusion. Local leaders stated that no reason justifies taking a life.
Jarjum Ete, president of the APWWS central committee, urged the public to confront domestic abuse. She highlighted the ongoing danger women face even after ending marriages. "We have to absolutely condemn it and demand for exemplary punishment. Everyone in the society should condemn this," Ete said.
The organization wants a time-bound, transparent process. They insist the law must deliver justice to the victim's family. Society needs to act now.
