Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu recently honored Tenzin Metoh for successfully completing a solo motorcycle expedition that spanned 22,482 kilometers. Her journey took her across 28 states and three Union Territories, solidifying her reputation as a determined adventurer.
Metoh, a former Miss Arunachal and the first woman from the state to ride a Royal Enfield Bullet, used the expedition to advocate for several pressing social issues. Throughout her travels, she promoted waste management, plastic-free living, communal harmony, and women's empowerment. By documenting her experiences online, she aims to build human connections and drive social change.
During a meeting with members of the Royal Arunachal Riders, the Chief Minister lauded Metoh for breaking stereotypes about women riders from the Northeast. He stated, "The Chief Minister also met members of the Royal Arunachal Riders. He commended Metoh for challenging stereotypes surrounding women riders from the Northeast and for inspiring young women through her achievements." Her accomplishments are now being recognized as a powerful display of resilience that helps reshape perceptions regarding the people of Northeast India.
