Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh has officially kicked off a Special Intensive Revision of its electoral rolls. This initiative is part of a nationwide effort by the Election Commission of India to refine voter databases ahead of future elections. The state plans to reach 8,87,505 registered voters during this extensive drive.
Booth Level Officers are currently conducting door-to-door visits across the state to distribute and verify enumeration forms. To ensure maximum participation, authorities have confirmed that officers will make repeated visits to households as needed. The Chief Electoral Officer has urged residents to assist with the process, stating: "The Chief Electoral Officer has appealed to all eligible voters to cooperate with election officials and actively participate in the house-to-house verification campaign to help ensure the preparation of an accurate, updated and inclusive electoral roll."
Individuals who submit their forms by July 14 will be included in the upcoming draft electoral rolls. Those who miss this deadline can still register during the subsequent claims and objections phase by filing Form 6. A total of 2,233 Booth Level Officers and 3,131 Booth Level Agents are managing the campaign.
The Election Commission has also expanded the involvement of political parties in this cycle. Booth Level Agents are now authorized to collect up to 50 completed forms daily to submit to election officials. These efforts aim to remove existing inaccuracies and guarantee that every eligible citizen is correctly accounted for in the voter registry.
