Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh just hit a major mark in renewable energy. The Centre for Earth Sciences and Himalayan Studies, known as CESHS, successfully finished testing a new geothermal drying unit. It runs on nothing but natural heat from a local well.
This tech skips electricity to dry farm produce. It creates value for local farmers and keeps rural jobs alive. The setup relies on natural temperature and flow discharge to function. This project proves that geothermal power works for direct, everyday needs.
CESHS Director Tana Tage praised the team behind the effort. He noted the work of technical partners, stating, "the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute and Geotropy ehf, Iceland for their contribution to the successful execution of the project."
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the Ministry of Earth Sciences backed the entire mission. State officials hope this unit leads the way for more clean energy projects. They aim to push sustainable power solutions across the region.
