Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Wednesday to assess the status of several critical projects. The discussions centered on infrastructure and strategic initiatives across the state, which holds a unique position due to its international borders with China, Bhutan, and Myanmar.
Khandu expressed appreciation for the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their ongoing commitment to the development of the region. The state is currently host to multiple flagship schemes of national importance, including the 1,748 kilometer Frontier Highway running along the Line of Actual Control. Efforts are also underway on the Trans Arunachal Highway and various hydropower projects designed to expand the renewable energy capacity of the country.
The state administration is working in tandem with the Ministry of Home Affairs to improve security infrastructure and road networks in remote districts. These initiatives also include expanding telecommunications services in border regions. Khandu noted that the central government has provided increased funding and expedited project clearances, which he identifies as a vital step for strengthening both the regional economy and national security.
