Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik wants a bank in every village. He met with Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank Chairman Vikal Sharma at the Raj Bhavan to demand better coverage. The bank must push deeper into remote habitations to get money and insurance into the hands of the people who need it most.

Parnaik told the bank to back local entrepreneurs and farmers. He wants easier credit for self-help groups and rural youth. Access to cash and solid advice will drive the state forward. "Timely financial assistance and guidance can transform innovative ideas into sustainable enterprises, generate employment opportunities, and contribute to the vision of a self-reliant and economically vibrant Arunachal Pradesh," the governor said.

The bank currently runs 38 branches across the state. Sharma confirmed that the institution is using new tech to reach more customers. The governor told the bank to link up with government agencies. They need to ensure welfare schemes actually hit the target beneficiaries. General Manager Nitul Phukan and Senior Manager Nako Taker also joined the talks to map out the expansion.
