Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor K. T. Parnaik has emphasized the critical need to strengthen the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector to serve as a cornerstone for the state's socio-economic advancement. During a meeting with Santanu Srivastava in New Delhi on May 18, the Governor underscored that the region possesses significant potential for entrepreneurship driven by its abundant natural resources, unique cultural heritage, and organic farming capabilities.

Governor Parnaik highlighted that robust growth in local enterprises is essential for creating sustainable livelihoods for women, youth, farmers, and artisans. By focusing on sectors such as food processing, cane and bamboo craftsmanship, handloom, eco-tourism, and horticulture, the state can effectively reduce unemployment and stem the migration of youth to urban centers in search of work. Furthermore, these efforts play a vital role in safeguarding indigenous knowledge and traditional skills while promoting financial independence among local business owners.

To realize the vision of an Atmanirbhar Arunachal and contribute to the national goal of Viksit Bharat, the Governor called for comprehensive institutional support. He noted that improved infrastructure, enhanced market access, digital inclusion, and better financial assistance are fundamental to ensuring that MSMEs can drive inclusive growth. This strategic focus on rural development aims to foster a self-reliant economy that leverages the state's specific strengths in herbal products and organic agriculture.
