Itanagar: Rescue teams recovered the final missing victim ten kilometres downstream on Sunday. The June 24 cloudburst in Keyi Panyor destroyed 18 homes in the NEEPCO colony. All search operations are now over. The state remains in crisis.

Seven districts face total isolation. Landslides and flooding have severed the Kimin-Potin road and the Hoj-Potin highway. Essential supplies cannot get through. Authorities warned the public to skip all non-essential travel while the terrain remains unstable.

Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Lobsang Tsering inspected the wreckage on Sunday. He said reopening the main highway will take at least a week. Heavy machinery sits idle at times due to fuel shortages and relentless rain.

The damage is extreme. PWD Junior Engineer Nagesh Kumar Singh reported massive washouts along the route, noting that "some sections of the road have developed vertical gorges nearly 40 to 50 metres deep" in places. Fixing these spots could drag on for more than a month. Crews are currently working on a war footing to clear the mud.
