Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu urged citizens to prioritize biodiversity conservation and sustainable living during the International Day for Biological Diversity on Friday. He emphasized that human well-being remains deeply tied to the health of the planet's ecosystems.

Khandu highlighted the theme of Harmony with Nature and Sustainable Development, noting that economic growth and ecological balance must move forward together. As a region within the Eastern Himalayan biodiversity hotspot, Arunachal Pradesh is recognized for its extensive forests, endangered wildlife, and rare plant species.

State officials confirmed that environmental preservation is a core element of the government's development agenda, even as the state pursues infrastructure projects. Recent efforts in the region have focused on community-led conservation, wildlife protection, and the promotion of sustainable tourism to foster climate-resilient growth.
