Arunachal and Assam officials meet to strengthen excise and border cooperation

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein met with Assam Minister Atul Bora on Tuesday to discuss stronger inter-state collaboration. The meeting included senior officials from the excise departments of both states, focusing on streamlining administrative processes and border protection.

The two delegations explored strategies to improve revenue collection and strengthen enforcement against illicit trade. Officials identified a need for joint initiatives and regular reviews to address shared challenges along their common border. This partnership aims to foster more effective governance and improved coordination between the neighboring states.

During the discussions, Mein emphasized that continuous dialogue is necessary to meet regional responsibilities. He stated, "I am confident that today’s deliberations will further deepen the spirit of cooperation between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and contribute to more efficient and people centric administration."
