ANCSU Retracts Statement on Former President Amid Legal Uncertainty

Kohima: The All Nagaland College Students Union walked back its decision to cut ties with former president Katho P. Awomi. Union leadership issued the retraction after admitting their July 3 statement triggered confusion and damaged the Naga Students Federation. ANCSU vice-president Duve Tetseo confirmed the previous public claims regarding financial demands are now retracted.

The union plans to keep its distance until legal investigations finalize the facts. "As such, the statement unintentionally caused prejudice to the reputation of the NSF. ANCSU sincerely regrets the same," Tetseo said. The union maintains its stance on the broader issue of illegal booze in the state.

ANCSU leaders are calling out law enforcement for failing to shut down bars and nightclubs violating the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act. They demand that authorities stop looking the other way. The union wants immediate, impartial action taken against all illegal operators across the region.
