Amit Shah Lays Foundation Stone for Luxury Taj Hotel in Agartala

Agartala: Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for the Taj Pushpabanta Palace Hotel in Agartala on June 5. The project aims to transform the site of the historic former Governor's House into a high-end luxury destination to bolster tourism infrastructure across Tripura.

The event took place in the Kunjan area with Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, local cabinet ministers, and representatives from the Indian Hotels Company Limited in attendance. During the ceremony, the minister unveiled a commemorative plaque and viewed a documentary presentation detailing the hotel's design and planned facilities.

The upcoming luxury property will house 101 rooms, consisting of 89 standard units, six executive rooms, five suites, and a presidential villa. Additional amenities will include a ballroom, banquet block, conference spaces, restaurants, and a swimming pool. Officials stated that the project is a major step toward expanding the state's hospitality sector and attracting high-end travelers.

Chief Minister Manik Saha presented the Union Home Minister with a replica of the Tripura Sundari Temple to mark the occasion. CEO Puneet Chhatwal attended on behalf of the Indian Hotels Company Limited as officials confirmed that the development marks a key investment for the region.
