Kohima: The Akhoya Village Council hit back at NSCN (IM) leaders VS Atem and RH Raising for their recent verbal attacks on former Nagaland Chief Minister Dr. SC Jamir. Council Chairman Tiatemjen Longkumer blasted the comments as thoughtless and disrespectful. The council wants an immediate withdrawal of these statements.
The village stands with Ungma Senso Mongdang and Ao Senden. These groups have pulled their cooperation from both Atem and Raising. The council says it is time for Naga leaders to act with maturity. Politicians must stop blaming others for their own failures. Everyone has fallen short of the Naga people's political goals.
Council members urged a spirit of reconciliation. Leaders should seek forgiveness from God and the public while forgiving one another. The body issued a stark warning to younger politicians regarding their behavior. The council specifically called out legislator Achumbemo Kikon for his conduct. He insulted Dr. Jamir while working in an assembly built by previous generations. Kikon operates within a house established by Dr. Imkongliba and Jamir during the volatile era of the Naga hills. The council told Kikon to be more cultured. He must respect the history of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

The council noted that Ungma is the original village of their forefathers. They also took a direct swipe at Achumbemo Kikon, characterizing the NPF secretary general as a young, Indian politician who is still fresh in state politics.
