Agartala Press Club Provides Financial Aid to Journalist Manish Debbarma

Agartala: The Agartala Press Club has provided ₹50,000 to tribal journalist Manish Debbarma to help cover the costs of an upcoming surgery. Debbarma is currently managing a rare disease that requires specialized medical intervention.

Pranab Sarkar, who serves as the Agartala Press Club President and Secretary of the Indian Journalists Union, presented the funds on Tuesday. He was joined by several media representatives, including Surajit Pal from the Tripura Electronics Media Society, Ranjit Debbarma from the Khumulwng Press Club, and Samaresh Dey from the Tripura Journalists Union.

The donation follows previous financial support provided to the journalist to help manage his ongoing health challenges. During the handover, Sarkar acknowledged the collective effort of the community, stating, "Sarkar thanked all those who came forward to help the journalist during his difficult time." This latest contribution is intended to ensure Debbarma can proceed with his required surgery and continue his necessary treatment.
