Agartala: Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumder hit the streets Friday to tackle the city’s flood problem. He toured water-logging hotspots at RMS Chowmuhani and Joynagar with a team of engineers and senior civic officials. The crew checked the drainage network, hunting for the blockages that cause rainwater to back up into the streets. They want a permanent fix before the next monsoon rolls in.

Majumder demanded immediate results. "We inspected various waterlogging-prone areas of Agartala along with the engineers and senior officials of the Municipal Corporation. We examined the drainage situation on the ground and identified the points where obstacles are causing problems in water discharge," the Mayor said.

The inspection team included AMC Commissioner Saju Wahid A, East Zone Chairman Sukhmay Saha, and Corporator Ratna Dutta. The group also swung by the Agartala Children's Park ground to check on the new coffee house project. Majumder pressed the builders to wrap up the construction work as soon as possible.
