Kohima: Advisor Achumbemo Kikon urged students to embrace modern education while grounding themselves in traditional Naga values and personal discipline. Speaking at the inauguration of a new floor extension at Don Bosco College, Kohima, the SCERT and Food Processing advisor praised the institution for its long-standing commitment to quality education and human development in the state.
Kikon emphasized that while digital tools are necessary in the current age, students must exercise caution. He warned that irresponsible use of gadgets and artificial intelligence can have negative consequences for young minds. He encouraged the audience to maintain a connection to reality, stating, "We must live in real and not reel."
The advisor further highlighted the importance of maintaining cultural identity, noting that respect for elders and polite conduct remain central to Naga society. He reminded attendees that technological progress should not come at the expense of core cultural practices. Addressing the threat of global warming, Kikon called for environmental stewardship, urging the community to adopt a mindset of thinking globally while acting locally.
