Guwahati: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad is calling for an immediate investigation into spot admission practices at B.N. College in Dhubri. The student group claims the 2026 B.Sc. selection process bypassed high-scoring candidates in favor of those with lower grades. Grades matter. According to the organization, students with 70 percent scores lost seats to applicants carrying 49 and 62 percent marks.
Bibek Prasad, former general secretary of the college union and current ABVP Northeast Zonal SFS Convenor, insists the group holds proof of the discrepancies. He specifically pointed to potential mishandling of OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificates issued through Sewa Setu and e-District Assam portals. "Student futures are at stake," Prasad said. He warned that authorities must face disciplinary action if the investigation uncovers foul play.
The ABVP demands the college publish the full 2026 merit list immediately. They want a clear breakdown of marks, category quotas, and selection criteria. Parents and students are waiting for answers. B.N. College officials have yet to respond to the mounting pressure regarding these admission gaps.
