Guwahati: A family in Nangal Dhowa village, located in the Rupahihat region of Assam, is facing a desperate struggle as three siblings cope with the loss of their eyesight. The children began losing their vision when they were between eight and nine years old, leaving their future uncertain.
The family is led by a widowed mother who supports her children by working as a cook at a local school. Her small salary covers basic daily needs, but she cannot afford the specialized medical care required to treat her children. The financial strain has become unsustainable, prompting the mother to seek support from the Assam government, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and the public.
In an emotional appeal, the mother highlighted the dire circumstances of their household. She expressed her hope for intervention, stating, "I have sought financial assistance from the Assam government, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the general public to help provide proper medical care for her children and improve their quality of life."
Local residents have rallied behind the family, urging charitable organizations and well-wishers to provide the necessary aid. The community hopes that increased visibility for this case will secure the resources needed to improve the children's quality of life.
