Western Sumi Hoho Establishes Committees for Border and Resource Oversight

Kohima: The Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) met June 24 in Chekiye village to set a new course for the region. Leadership resolved to prioritize inter-community peace and social harmony across all tribes. They want unity. Tribal heads urged citizens to keep relations cordial and strictly avoid spreading hatred or provocation.

Social media misuse is now a major target. The group warned that anyone using online platforms to disrupt communal peace faces strict disciplinary action. They are watching. Beyond local conduct, the organization reaffirmed its backing for an early, peaceful end to the long-standing Indo-Naga political dispute.

The WSH officially formed the Western Sumi Area Oil and Natural Resources Committee to oversee local land assets. They also set up a second group specifically to track and manage border-related disputes. The Media Cell stated that these new bodies will "function under the aegis of the Western Sumi Hoho" to ensure centralized oversight of sensitive issues.
