Union Minister Manohar Lal Reviews Infrastructure and Energy Projects in Mizoram

Aizawl: Union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal visited Aizawl on Friday to assess the progress of state development initiatives. The minister began his visit with a meeting with Mizoram Governor General VK Singh at Lok Bhavan.

Lal later led a state review meeting at MINECO, joined by Mizoram UD and PA Minister K. Sapdanga, Power and Electricity Minister F. Rodingliana, and various government officials. Discussions focused on the Swachh Bharat Mission, with the minister directing state leaders to develop concrete plans for upgrading waste management systems and public sanitation facilities.

Regarding the energy sector, the minister evaluated current distribution obstacles. He encouraged the state to increase the adoption of solar power to bolster electricity access in remote regions. Additionally, he called for improvements in billing efficiency to strengthen the overall power distribution network.
