Shillong: Students across the district gathered Wednesday at the Tura District Auditorium. They attended the Block Level Chief Minister’s Youth Engagement Programme 2026. The West Garo Hills District Sports Office hosted the event. Participants explored the theme, Young Meghalaya, Shaping Tomorrow.
Teens competed in diverse fields. Events included folk dance, folk singing, handicrafts, storytelling, and poetry. They also tackled quizzes and public speaking. These contests provided a platform for local youth to sharpen their skills and demonstrate talent.
Tura Government College students secured big wins. Their National Service Scheme volunteers took home several top honors. The college earned first place in four categories: Folk Dance, Folk Song, Handicraft, and Story Writing. They claimed second place in the Science Exhibition. The group also took third place in Poetry, Quiz, and Declamation. Their success brought pride to the institution.
