Kohima: Additional Deputy Commissioner Berimong Chang opened the new Emporium in Tuensang on Tuesday. The facility aims to give local artisans a permanent home to display and sell their handmade goods. Officials hope this creates a stronger economy for the town.

Many skilled workers currently lack access to buyers. This space changes that. Chang noted that progress is a team effort. He told the crowd, "The Emporium would strengthen the town’s economy by creating opportunities for local artisans to improve their livelihoods while showcasing their cultural identity."

The project highlights Tuensang as a hub for diverse, tribal traditions. Planners want to keep these crafts authentic to draw in tourists and traders. By using social media and e-commerce, makers can now reach customers across the globe.

Takum Chang called the opening a landmark event for Eastern Nagaland. The Ministry of Textiles backed the project, which Nagaland Empowerment of People through Economic Development implemented. It serves as a vital center for future business growth.
