Tripura University Appoints Prof Ashes Gupta as CDC Director

Agartala: Tripura University handed Prof Ashes Gupta a new job. He now leads the College Development Council as its director. The August 25 notification confirmed the additional charge for the English department faculty member. Vice-Chancellor Prof Debabrata Das signed off on the move.

Gupta keeps his classroom duties. He will balance his new administrative role with regular work in the English department. The appointment lasts three years or until the university issues further orders. Registrar in-charge Prof Samir Kumar Sil signed the document.

The administration plans to present the order to the Executive Council. The director position acts as the bridge between the university and its many affiliated colleges. It manages institutional development and academic operations. The official order stated: "Gupta will continue to discharge his existing responsibilities in the English department alongside the additional assignment."
