Agartala: Trapa Choudhury, a 14-year-old student from St. Paul's School in Agartala, has joined over 250 young leaders in New Delhi for the II Russian-Indian Youth Forum 2026. The event, which began on June 16 at the Russian House, serves as a platform for professionals and students to address global challenges including climate action, sustainable development, and cultural exchange.

Representing Tripura on the international stage, Choudhury is actively participating in sessions dedicated to ecological responsibility, indigenous knowledge, and climate awareness. The two-day program is a collaborative effort between the Russian Embassy, the Russian House, and India's Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, featuring a mix of expert discussions and field visits designed to foster bilateral youth cooperation.

Choudhury brings extensive experience to the forum, having earned titles such as Global Child Peace Ambassador and Child Ambassador for Sustainable Development Goals. Her resume includes participation in over 250 state, national, and international events, alongside a recognition from the India Book of Records. Officials and educators view her presence as a milestone for the region. As one observer noted, her participation is "an inspiration for youth engagement in international cooperation, climate action, and sustainable development initiatives."

The forum is set to wrap up with a joint declaration intended to solidify long-term partnerships and cultural understanding between the youth of India and Russia.
