Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced a significant decline in school dropout rates across the state during a bicycle distribution ceremony at Shishu Bihar School in Agartala. The event marked the start of a statewide effort to provide approximately 41,800 bicycles to students in class IX, a move designed to help them reach school on time while boosting interest in their studies.

Saha highlighted that promoting female education is a primary focus for the government, aligning with the broader vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that the development of the nation relies heavily on the empowerment of women, who account for half of the population. As he explained, "Women constitute 50% of the population. Initiatives have now been taken for the overall development of women and the expansion of their education system. The state government is also working in that direction, following the Prime Minister's vision."

The state government has made strides in representation, with women holding more than half of the positions in three-tier panchayats and municipal bodies. According to the Chief Minister, ensuring girls receive quality education benefits families, society, and the state at large. He expressed confidence that women can prove their capabilities when given the right opportunities.

Beyond academic support, the Chief Minister urged students to contribute to the creation of a Viksit Tripura. He called upon both teachers and students to remain vigilant against drug abuse, advising educators to monitor behavioral changes in children and intervene when necessary to protect the youth.
