Agartala: Tripura officials are finalizing arrangements for the upcoming Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026, scheduled for July 9 and 10. Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha led a high-level meeting at the State Secretariat on June 17 to review the progress of the event, which may see Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India, V. Anantha Nageswaran, in attendance.

Industries and Commerce Secretary Kiran Gitte briefed officials on the state's investment strategy, which includes recent roadshows and outreach efforts. The conclave will focus on high-growth sectors such as healthcare, tourism, education, information technology, renewable energy, and manufacturing. According to Gitte, "The main objective of this conclave is to showcase Tripura as an investment-friendly destination at the national and international levels, attract new investments, and bring stakeholders from diverse sectors onto a common platform."

Chief Secretary Sinha highlighted the state's progress in business reforms, noting that Tripura is now recognized for its efforts in deregulation and compliance reduction. He emphasized that the state's ability to simplify administrative systems has bolstered investor interest from across India. "Tripura has become a model in developing an investment-friendly administrative system," Sinha noted during the session.

The two-day summit aims to connect policymakers and industry leaders to solidify Tripura's role as an emerging commercial hub in Northeast India. Officials believe the event will demonstrate the state's commitment to development and its readiness for large-scale economic partnerships.
