Agartala: Tripura Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das has called for the urgent and effective delivery of government welfare programs to ensure benefits reach all eligible students and citizens. During a review meeting at the Sonar Tori State Guest House, Das urged departmental officials and committee chairpersons to take a proactive approach toward boosting the socio-economic status of these communities.

There are 34 Scheduled Caste communities currently living in Tripura. To better support them, the government plans to gather input from local stakeholders to shape future development policies. The minister outlined a strategy to increase self-employment, social progress, and economic stability for these groups.

Das specifically reviewed the progress of several key initiatives, including the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana, which covers skill development, infrastructure like hostels, and financial aid. He also emphasized the importance of existing programs such as the Chief Minister’s Self-Reliant Family Scheme and various scholarship offerings. Reaffirming the administration's goals, Das said, "All stakeholders must work together to improve the overall socio-economic condition of Scheduled Caste communities throughout Tripura."
