Agartala: Tripura secured 33 deals worth Rs 12,300 crore in the tourism sector. The agreements followed the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026. Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury confirmed the numbers on Saturday. The state originally aimed for Rs 15,000 crore in tourism investments alone.

Government officials met with prospective investors to move these projects forward. These partners come from all over India. The minister spoke during a consultation session held in Agartala. "Investors from different parts of the country have come with their proposals. The consultation meeting has been organised for a constructive exchange of views with those willing to invest in the tourism sector," Chowdhury said.

The state beat its total goal. Officials signed MoUs worth Rs 1.22 lakh crore across all sectors. The target was only Rs 1 lakh crore. Other investments include electric vehicle motor plants. Now comes the hard work. Chowdhury noted that these signatures are just a start. The state must focus on the actual delivery of these promised projects.

Tripura aims to sell itself as a hub for spiritual, eco, and adventure travel. Work is moving fast. They already laid the foundation stone for a new luxury hotel with the Taj Group. Several other sites should open soon. These projects could shift the state economy and put Tripura on the map for travelers.
