Agartala: Livestock farming is creating jobs for Tripura's unemployed youth and women. Animal Resources Development Department Minister Sudhangshu Das confirmed the trend on October 8. He spoke at a national conclave focused on livestock and economic agency for vulnerable groups.

Rural families need extra income. The livestock sector fills that gap. Poultry, piggery, duck rearing, and cattle farming have expanded across the state. These ventures help residents become financially self-reliant.

The National Livestock Mission deserves credit. It provides the backing for young people to start their own enterprises. Das said, "The livestock sector was playing an increasingly important role in strengthening the rural economy and generating income opportunities for rural communities."

The conclave connects veterinary professionals and Mobile Veterinary Officers with Pashu Sakhis from the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission. These experts share tactics to grow the rural economy. ARDD Secretary S Prabhu and Director Niraj Kumar Chanchal also attended the event to support these efforts.
