Agartala: Tripura Education Department officials issued 30 show-cause notices to school staff and hostel workers in the West District. Teams from the Directorate of Elementary Education conducted surprise audits to grade academic quality and administrative oversight. The inspectors focused on foundational learning, including the NIPUN Tripura program and pre-primary education standards.
Auditors checked for teacher-made learning materials, activity-based instruction, and the upkeep of NIPUN Corners. They also inspected the PM POSHAN food program for hygiene and quality. Discipline failed in several spots. Two Cluster Resource Persons received notices for negligence. The department stopped paychecks for three employees linked to major misconduct.
Not all news was grim. Three schools earned appreciation certificates for hitting academic benchmarks. Inspectors noted teachers bringing grandparents into classrooms to share stories with students. This boosted interaction during pre-primary lessons. Officials stated, "Regular monitoring and surprise inspections will continue to strengthen academic activities, improve accountability and enhance the overall quality of education."
Teams reviewed student attendance and met with guardians and committee members to provide technical help. The department plans to expand these surprise checks to secondary and higher secondary schools soon.
