Tribal Youth Council Calls for Online Manipur Government Recruitment

Imphal: The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM) has formally requested that the Manipur government transition all recruitment processes to an online system. In a May 29 submission to the Chief Secretary and the Secretary of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, the group emphasized that current offline methods are hindering job seekers in hill districts.

The organization cited ongoing regional unrest and disrupted transportation as primary obstacles that make it difficult for youth to travel for paper-based applications. By moving forms, submissions, and Employment Sponsoring Numbers to a digital platform, the council aims to eliminate the long queues, travel costs, and time delays associated with manual procedures.

Beyond digitizing submissions, the TYCM requested a minimum 30-day window for application periods. They also called for a simplification of documentation requirements for certificates regarding income, caste, and residency. The council argued that since Aadhaar data is already digital, the government should streamline verification to assist tribal communities across the state.
