Gangtok: Traffic on National Highway 10 in Sikkim has officially resumed after crews cleared a landslide that blocked the route on the morning of Thursday, June 18. The blockage occurred at the 20th Mile stretch located between Singtam and Rangpo, causing significant travel delays across the vital corridor.

Authorities launched immediate cleanup operations to remove debris and restore connectivity for residents and travelers. While the road was closed, officials advised commuters heading toward destinations like Siliguri and Rangpo to avoid the area to prevent heavy congestion. Travelers were redirected to the Singtam-Central Pendam-Rangpo road as an interim route until the main highway was deemed safe for public use.

With the restoration work now finished, transport officials have confirmed the highway is open to the public. As stated in the official report, "Vehicular movement along National Highway-10 in Sikkim resumed after restoration and clearance work was completed at the 20th Mile stretch between Singtam and Rangpo."
