Guwahati: A tourist from Uttar Pradesh recorded a group of women bathing at Mawsawa Falls in Meghalaya. The incident happened October 4 near Sohra town, roughly 65 kilometers from Shillong. The trouble started when one woman noticed the man filming them. She confronted him immediately.

The man denied the accusation at first. The group checked his phone anyway. They found roughly nine or 10 photographs and zoomed-in videos of the women. The tourist claimed he recorded the footage by accident because his hands were wet. Viral social media footage shows the man kneeling and folding his hands in apology. One woman noted that the man admitted his mistake and promised to stop.

She told reporters, "The tourist admitted his mistake and assured them that he would not repeat it." The group opted against filing a police complaint. Other visitors at the site shifted blame toward the victims. Those bystanders questioned the women about their clothing choices instead of addressing the recording. Mawsawa Falls remains a high-traffic destination for tourists.
