Shillong: Cabinet Minister Sanbor Shullai and VPP MLA Brightstarwell Marbaniang clashed over teacher advocacy during the 36th Biennial General Conference of the Meghalaya College Teachers’ Association on Friday. Shullai pushed for direct government cooperation to solve sector issues. He described educators as people who “illuminate the path for others.” Marbaniang countered by calling out intimidation of teachers. The MLA demanded unity to protect job security and challenged age restrictions in hiring.
