Shillong: Meghalaya Trinamool Congress chief Charles Pyngrope wants police to hunt down the attackers behind Saturday's petrol bomb strike on the Laban Police Station. Two incendiary devices were hurled at the facility around 2.30 am. CCTV cameras caught the culprits in the act. No officers suffered injuries during the assault.
Pyngrope maintains that state law and order remains stable despite the provocation. He insists the administration should not allow a few agitators to hold Shillong to ransom. While acknowledging that small groups might still cause trouble, he warned against labeling every outburst as a systematic failure. He noted, “The police are doing their job in maintaining at least peace and tranquillity.”
The TMC leader claims the state has stabilized after previous unrest. He argued that it is unrealistic to expect zero incidents overnight. His primary focus remains on police action. He stated, “You have to try and arrest the main persons involved in these incidents.”
