Tinsukia Residents Demand Fixes After Flash Floods Hit Ward 6

Guwahati: Heavy rains flooded Tinsukia, Assam, on Monday morning. Streets in Ward No. 6 turned into rivers after a downpour battered the town all Sunday night. Roads remained underwater for hours, snarling traffic and forcing locals to slog through knee-deep sludge.

School children and commuters struggled to get around. Small vehicles and two-wheelers stalled in the deep water. Locals are fed up. They blame the mess on clogged drains and pathetic civic planning. The city keeps flooding every time the sky opens up, yet the authorities do nothing.

Residents are tired of empty promises. They want the Tinsukia Municipal Board and district officials to quit stalling and start clearing the pipes. One resident noted, "We need a permanent solution, not temporary fixes." The lack of long-term work remains the core issue. Water still pooled in Ward No. 6 well after the rain stopped, leaving residents to deal with the chaos themselves.
