Tinsukia Medical Store Accused of Selling Unauthorized Drugs

Guwahati: A Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Assam is under fire. A local advocate claims the Napukhuri shop in Tinsukia district is peddling drugs not allowed under the federal discount medicine program. These stores exist solely to sell government-approved generic pills at rock-bottom prices. Breaking these rules ruins the whole point of the scheme.

The lawyer wants a formal probe immediately. He argues that staff ignored operational guidelines to push unauthorized stock. "The Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra was established to provide affordable medicines to the public. However, activities contrary to that objective are taking place here. Medicines are allegedly being sold in violation of government rules. I demand a thorough investigation into the matter," the advocate said.

Tinsukia residents are worried. People now want to know who is watching these stores. The focus shifts to local officials tasked with policing the chain. Questions about compliance are piling up fast.
