Itanagar: A landslide in the Migging area of Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Siang district claimed three lives on June 10. The victims included a local BJP leader, his wife, and her sister, according to local MLA Alo Libang.

Several other individuals sustained injuries during the collapse and were transported to Yingkiong for medical care. Emergency responders and local authorities arrived at the scene shortly after the disaster to begin rescue and relief operations.

While investigators are still compiling a full report, early assessments suggest the movement of earth may have been triggered by nearby highway construction activities. This event has heightened regional concerns regarding the safety of infrastructure projects in areas prone to geological instability.

Reflecting on the loss, local MLA Alo Libang confirmed that the deceased included "a BJP leader from a local village, his wife and his wife's sister." State authorities have initiated a formal inquiry to determine the cause of the disaster, and officials are expected to release more information soon.
