Imphal: The Thadou Human Rights Advocacy wants the National Investigation Agency to probe the Kuki-Zo Council over the recent killing of six Naga civilians. THRA leaders claim the federal agency must determine if council members held prior knowledge of the hits or helped cover them up.

KZC leadership recently held a press conference in Lamka. They admitted their community members killed the six captives. They labeled the violence a "grave mistake" committed in a moment of emotion. THRA rejected that apology as insufficient and demanded immediate arrests.

The group insists that legal accountability is the only path forward. They also pushed for the disarmament of all militant factions operating in the area. The violence follows a pattern of unsolved crimes, including the August 2025 murder of Thadou leader Nehkam Jomhao.

THRA highlighted another massacre from May 13. Militants at a checkpoint between Kotlen and Kotzim villages killed three Thadou Baptist pastors, Rev. V. Sitlhou, Rev. Kaigoulun Lhouvum, and Pastor Paogoulen Sitlhou. Investigators are now scrutinizing conflicting statements from the Kuki Inpi Manipur and the KZC for evidence of obstruction of justice.
