Imphal: Thadou Community International (TCI) blasted the Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) following a June 25 press conference in Churachandpur. TCI leaders claim the council acts as a mouthpiece for militant groups and the Kuki Inpi Manipur. They reject the KZC's recent admission regarding the killing of six Naga civilians.

TCI representatives called the admission a boastful display of supremacist attitudes rather than an apology. They allege that the victims were not only killed but mutilated in a premeditated slaughter. The group claims these events mirror the 2025 murder of Thadou leader Nehkam Jomhao, signaling a systematic pattern of violence.

The group also disputed claims that three murdered pastors were Kuki. Rev. Dr. V. Sitlhou, Rev. Kaigoulun Lhouvum, and Pastor Paogoulen Sitlhou died near an illegal militant checkpoint in May 2026. TCI leaders argue these men were targeted for refusing to abandon their Thadou identity. "The victims’ bodies were recovered, mutilated and dismembered; their flesh was allegedly cooked and fed to their families, and the remains were hidden for a month," TCI stated.

TCI members suspect the National Investigation Agency and local police of mislabeling these leaders to protect perpetrators. They demand the immediate arrest of Kuki militant leadership. The organization is now calling on the Thadou people to reject the Kuki label entirely. They insist that the state must end its silence and hold those responsible for the violence accountable.
