Imphal: The Thadou Human Rights Advocacy (THRA) wants a National Investigation Agency probe into Kuki-Zo Council Chairman Henlianthang Thanglet. They claim his June 25 press conference in Lamka demands a full criminal investigation. Thanglet reportedly expressed regret for the killing of six Naga civilians, calling the act a result of emotion. THRA rejects this framing.

The group argues that emotional outbursts do not erase criminal liability for murder. They draw direct parallels between these deaths and the August 2025 killing of Thadou leader Nehkam Jomhao. THRA also points to the May 13 slayings of three Thadou Baptist pastors, Rev. Dr. V. Sitlhou, Rev. Kaigoulun Lhouvum, and Pastor Paogoulen Sitlhou. These men died at a KRA/KNO check post located in a Kuki-majority area. THRA views these as targeted hits against individuals asserting a distinct Thadou identity.

Concerns over shifting narratives between the Kuki Inpi Manipur and the Kuki-Zo Council fuel suspicions of a cover-up. The advocacy group wants investigators to determine who knew about, helped with, or hid information regarding these crimes. They demand the immediate arrest of all suspects, regardless of group ties. They also want militant groups disarmed to restore order.

The group stated, "Justice cannot be reduced to a press conference spectacle." They insist that empty apologies fail to replace actual legal consequences.
