Imphal: The Working Committee of the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) issued a demand for an unconditional public apology from the Kuki-Zo Council (KZC). This follows the KZC’s use of the term Kacha Naga in recent statements. The committee slammed the language as provocative and defamatory. It labeled the council’s response to the abduction and killing of six Liangmai Naga civilians as being both "extremely repulsive and impudent."

The TNL Working Committee rejected the KZC chairman’s attempt to express regret after the council already admitted its role in the incident. They called that apology utterly unqualified. The committee is now pushing the Manipur government to take swift legal action. They want the culprits behind the Konsakhul village killings arrested and punished to maintain the rule of law.

Tension remains high as the group calls for the state to cancel the Suspension of Operations agreement with Kuki militant units. They specifically requested the arrest of KNF-P cadres tied to the murders. The TNL also urged the government to prosecute KZC leaders for their alleged role and initial dishonesty during the investigation. They point to a December 2024 government notification that declared the Kuki-Zo Council a non-existent group and are pressuring authorities to disband the organization immediately.
