Gangtok: Sikkim is prepping for a high-octane spectacle. A fleet of Lamborghinis and Porsches will charge through the state's rugged mountain passes from December 11 to 15, 2025. It is a long, winding route.
Organizers from the Mumbai-based Supercar Route group want to put the state on the map for gearheads. The drive kicks off in Sukna, West Bengal, before pushing through Siliguri and Gangtok. The machines will then climb toward high-altitude landmarks like Cho La and Natu La, finally tackling the sharp turns of the Gnathang-Zuluk stretch.
The Indian Army's Black Cat Division and the Sikkim government are backing the event. District Collector Tushar G. Nikhare chaired a coordination meeting Tuesday to iron out the logistics with state officials and military brass. This rally is self-funded by a group of investors and business leaders.
The route carries heavy history. Cho La served as a bloody battlefield between India and China back in 1967. The event aligns with the Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan initiative, a joint project between the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Tourism. Officials state the program is designed to "honour India’s military heritage and encourage patriotic tourism."
