Guwahati: The Central Assam Koch Rajbongshi Students' Union is sounding the alarm on corruption in Nagaon. They claim officials are handing out school permissions, DISE codes, and SEBA codes to bogus institutions. This racket hurts students and parents alike. The group says these actions trash the integrity of the entire local education system.
Corruption runs deep. The union pointed to Bishnurabha Senior Secondary School as a prime example of these questionable operations. They want the government to shut down any school found cutting corners. "The organisation urged the government to take appropriate action against institutions that are found violating established norms," according to a recent statement.
The union also wants to break up the networks turning education into a quick payday. They are pushing for new rules to stop the spread of private schools. Specifically, they want a ban on opening private institutions within two kilometres of existing government schools. They claim this buffer would protect public infrastructure. State authorities must step in now to clear out the rot and restore order to the district classrooms.
