State Officials Scout Site for New Ayurvedic Plant in Sabroom

Agartala: A joint team descended on Sabroom in South Tripura on Thursday and Friday. They hit the Integrated AYUSH Hospital to inspect a proposed Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing unit. The Health and Family Welfare Department ordered the visit. Officials want more drugs made locally. This move cuts down on reliance on outside suppliers.

The Branch Officer of the Ayurveda Wing at the Directorate of Health Services chaired the delegation. The crew included brass from the National AYUSH Mission, the Deputy Drug Controller’s Office, the State Drug Testing Laboratory, and the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission. The Sub-Divisional Medical Officer of Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital and the South District AYUSH team rounded out the group.

They checked the site top to bottom. The team reviewed infrastructure, space, quality standards, and technical specs. They also looked at regulatory compliance to ensure the facility meets state requirements. The National AYUSH Mission, Tripura, says the government will keep building better health infrastructure. Their goal is improving access to services. As one official noted, the project is part of a plan to ensure the "production of quality-assured Ayurvedic medicines within the state."
