Agartala: A joint team visited the Integrated AYUSH Hospital in Sabroom on Thursday. They came to inspect the site of a proposed Ayurvedic Medicine Manufacturing Unit. The Health and Family Welfare Department ordered the review to boost the state's AYUSH healthcare reach.
The group featured experts from the National AYUSH Mission, the Deputy Drug Controller's Office, and the State Drug Testing Laboratory. Officials from the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission joined the Sub-Divisional Medical Officer of Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital and the South District AYUSH team for the walkthrough. They scrutinized infrastructure, floor plans, and technical standards needed for the facility.
The unit aims to cut the state's reliance on outside suppliers. Officials want to ensure high quality standards for local production. According to state officials, "The proposed unit is expected to play a role in ensuring the production of quality-assured Ayurvedic medicines within the state, reducing dependence on external supplies and promoting self-reliance in medicine manufacturing."
The National AYUSH Mission stated it wants to expand infrastructure across Tripura. They aim to make affordable healthcare accessible to more residents through these projects.
