SSB Personnel Quell Large Forest Fire Near Dirang

Itanagar: A massive forest fire erupted near the Nimas area and Kendriya Vidyalaya in Dirang at 2:30 PM on June 28. Flames tore through a 300-metre stretch of land, threatening nearby houses and public property. The blaze fell within the jurisdiction of the 30th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal.

Personnel from the 30th Battalion and their Quick Reaction Team sprinted to the site. They acted as first responders to stop the fire from spreading to residential zones. Their fast work kept the blaze from reaching local homes.

Officials confirmed the fire is now under control. "The timely intervention by the SSB personnel successfully brought the fire under control and averted potential damage to residential houses and public assets located in the vicinity," reported sources at the scene. No injuries or major property damage were logged. Authorities plan to inspect the area to assess the full extent of the damage.
